Job Description

The Riverside University Health System – Behavioral Health Department is recruiting a Supervising Behavioral Health Specialist for the Substance Abuse & Treatment Program in Moreno Valley.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include scheduling, supervision and evaluation of a multi-disciplinary staff and support personnel engaged in providing a variety of substance abuse services to individuals, groups and to the community.

What we are looking for in candidates

Understanding of the elements of DMC-ODS 1115-D Waiver and its impact on the provision of substance use services in California.
Understanding of the elements of CalAIM initiative and changes it brought to the provision of behavioral health services in California
Familiarity with the use of the ASAM criteria for determining appropriate placement of clients for substance use treatment.
Familiarity with the local, state, and federal regulations governing provision of substance use services in California (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Title 22, Title 9, Intergovernmental Agreement, Perinatal Guidelines, Adolescent Treatment Guidelines, STC).
Ability to provide trainings on varied topics related to the provision of substance use treatment
Assist in creation and update of procedural workflows
Ability to use all Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook at a minimum. Ability to use Access, Publisher, and Visio a plus.
Write clear and concise policies and procedures for inclusion in program Policies and Practices Manual
Assist in writing grant proposals
Work with Quality Improvement department in creating Corrective Action Plans (CAPS) for addressing deficiencies found during internal audits
Ability to handle various levels of personnel issues
Complete employee annual performance evaluations
Ability to work effectively with widely diverse populations.
Ability to oversee multidisciplinary team providing services to individuals, groups, and the community
Ability to apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills to plan, organize, implement, analyze, evaluate, and monitor effectiveness of service provision within an outpatient setting
The schedule for this position is 9/80 w/ every other Friday off (non-payday Fridays off); M-F 7:30am-5:00pm or 8:00am – 5:30pm (flexible)

Candidates are required to be certified at date of application as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor and to have a valid Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) certification or registration in accordance with the certification requirements as pursuant to Sections 11755, 11864, 11876 (a),and 11834.50 of the California Health and Safety Code and Sections 9846, 10125and 10564 of the California Code of Regulations through either the California Consortium of Addictions Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) or the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs or Addiction Counselor Certification Board of California (ACCBC).
