Job Description
Summary
Facilitate mental health services under the supervision of the Clinical Director and CEO, by collaborating with counseling staff to provide SUD diagnostic and determination of need and appropriate level of care for SUD clients. Provide therapy to SUD clients (and occasionally their families) in a substance use recovery setting. Develop and implement treatment in compliance with grant obligations, all state, federal, agency, and other applicable rules and regulations. If eligible, provide BBS-approved clinical supervision to associates and trainees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of recent experience providing direct therapy and/or supervising associates or licensed staff providing direct therapy
- Experience with and compassion for individuals with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders and those who have been involved in the criminal justice system
- Knowledge of resources, methods, and techniques for all stages of recovery.
- Experience in therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples, and families
- Knowledge of legal confidentiality and ethical requirements
- Ability to perform case management and administrative duties as required
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to facilitate referrals
- Professional presentation
- Competent interpersonal skills
- Competent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of BBS regulations and ethical expectations
- If eligible, provide clinical supervision as requested to registered associates or trainees
- Complete assessments, and treatment plans, and provide crisis stabilization for clients
- Attend weekly staff meetings to collaborate on client needs, strengths, and progress
- Concisely and thoroughly document daily clinical information
- Partner with clients to identify goals and analyze progress toward said goals
- Develop and execute a discharge and aftercare plan, ensuring continued support through relevant community resources
- Actively utilize, reference, and follow agency policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Comply with all federal, state, and agency health and safety reporting requirements
- Conduct individual and family therapy as needed
- Adhere to all HIPAA and HITECH requirements as they pertain to client care
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
- Possess extensive knowledge of current DSM diagnostic criteria and the ability to evaluate client care needs
- Ability to effectively communicate clinical impressions and assess the strengths and functional impairments of clients, in collaboration with other clinical staff
- Demonstrate competence in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Treatment
- Demonstrate knowledge of substance use, recovery, wellness, community resources, support services, and referral systems
- General knowledge of 12-Step Programs preferred
Education:
- Master’s (Required)
Licenses:
Valid California BBS license in one of the following categories
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
