Golden Gate Recovery is a 90-day aftercare program (PHP/day treatment and IOP) with supportive housing for men struggling with substance abuse and mental health. This is a life skills based program with a strong clinical and medical component. Our clinical director has worked in the substance abuse space for 20 years as an MFT and our medical director is a board certified addiction psychiatrist.

During the first month of PHP/day treatment, our clients live in the phase one house and are transported to the center each day by our staff for programming 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday. The house has a live in house manager and clients give a urine analysis three times a week. Each client meets with the doctor upon admission as well as each week or as needed. The programming consists of weekly individual sessions with their therapist or counselor, process groups, relapse prevention groups, mindfulness groups and much more.

Phase 2 is in a separate house, we still offer transportation to and from the center five days a week. They’re done with treatment by 12:30 and will begin to start buying their own food, and re-engaging with the world through work, school or volunteer. This house also has a live in house manager and the clients continue to complete a urine analysis three times per week.

Phase 3 is three days of programming, living in the phase 3 house with separate house manager and new structure. Clients are working with their clinical and medical team throughout their stay here as well, and programming is geared toward offering each client the best possible chance at lasting recovery.

Throughout the 90-day stay, clients are doing regular recovery meetings, weekend outings (hiking, beach, Alcatraz tours, sporting events etc) to ensure limited downtime.
